Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens
– Show Home –
Ashner Construction Co. was privileged to be selected to construct a show home to be used as a tour destination to raise funds for the Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens. Located in the beautiful Rockwood Falls Estates in southern Johnson County, this 5,600 s.f. , 1 story walkout, while presenting a more traditional European inspired façade, features unique custom interior finishes of a more modern nature in keeping with the homeowners’ personal style. The blending of the two styles produced a stunning custom home appreciated by the 3,500 people who toured the home this summer resulting in a sizeable contribution to the Children’s Train Garden.

This Rustic/Old World style home was custom designed specifically with the intention of blending into its beautiful wooded lot in Loch Lloyd. Eastern white pine timbers, stone columns and custom wrought ironwork are some of the unique materials used in this open, 1 1/2 story plan.

Ashner Construction wins the 2008 Pick of the parade 1st runner up award for their home at the Villas of LionsGate. The Pick of the Parade Awards recognizes winners based on criteria such as outstanding construction techniques, selection of materials and craftsmanship; with judges examining everything from exterior siding to interior framing. In 2008 over 435 homes were toured, making it the second-largest housing tour in the nation.

Cover for Kitchen and Bath
A young family finds a storybook setting for their Kansas log home. Featuring a screened gazebo overlooking the relaxing water garden and koi pond. The dramatic entryway is framed by two circular sand-blown glass windows, custom etched with images of ducks and Labs. The kitchen is a blend of rustic and contemporary, including a sheetrock ceiling and stone-topped island. The wood beams were literally distressed with chains and chisels before they were stained.
